Why Pentosin

Some brands advertise their way onto a shelf. Pentosin got there the slow way — by being in the car before the car was sold.

Deutsche Pentosin-Werke was founded in 1927 in Hamburg, and grew up supplying the European motor industry from inside: hydraulic fluids, motor oils and transmission fluids developed with the manufacturers rather than for them. That position has a name in the trade — «first fill», the fluid poured on the assembly line itself. Pentosin products carry formal OE approvals from marques and transmission builders of the calibre of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, the Volkswagen Group, Porsche, ZF and Getrag.

The green can

Every brand hopes for an icon; Pentosin's turned out to be a colour. CHF 11S, the long-life synthetic central hydraulic fluid, has been the quiet hero of European power steering, self-levelling suspension and convertible tops for so long that «the green can» works as a part number at most counters. It is rated for lifetime application and keeps full performance from −40 °C.

No universal fluids

The philosophy that runs through the whole range is the opposite of one-size-fits-all. The FFL double-clutch fluids state it outright on the label: friction characteristics are tailored to each gearbox family and are not interchangeable. The ATF program runs by number for the same reason. A Pentosin can is an answer to a specific question — the one printed in your service book.

What this catalogue is

This site is the Pentosin shelf arranged for owners: every can with its real listing data, owner reviews quoted word for word, and a stamp that opens the partner store where the purchase itself happens. We curate; the partner sells.
